HTTS (Hospital Transcription Transmission System) is a web based application that allows transcription vendors to easily
manage the workflow of transcriptions from transcriber to proofer to client. Coupled
with a built-in HL7 interface, HTTS transmits completed transcriptions to any
HL7 interface via the Internet. But, that's just the beginning. HTTS also accepts
the following standard HL7 messages: A04, A06, A07, A08, A18, A29, A30, A31, A34, A36
and A36, by default and can be customized for the entire HL7 protocol.
This data is stored and indexed by HTTS so that transcribers can verify
that the dictation they are transcribing has been linked with the correct patient,
physician and visit. This allows transcriptions to be transmitted back to the client
(typically a hospital system) where the transcription can be accessed by providers
within the client system. Here's how it works:
Based on a users rights, the Main menu displays the appropriate items.
(The above graphic shows all Main menu items displayed for the administrator)
For instance, a transcriber would typically have rights to create and edit
transcriptions. Transcribers can type transcriptions directly into HTTS
or cut and paste from a word processor. For transcribers who type directly
into HTTS, there is a built-in medical dictionary to aid with spelling.
Each new transcription starts with the transcriber listening to a dictation
which typically begins with information that identifies the patient. HTTS
accommodates a Visit Number, Medical Record Number, Patient Last Name, Patient DOB
and Visit Date. The transcriber enters the applicable information in the following
screen and searches for the correct patient.
HTTS searches its database to locate the correct patient. The database is
populated by incoming messages from the hospital system, which transmits patient
data to HTTS via a secure connection. Once the correct patient is found,
the transcriber can complete the transcription and submit it to HTTS for
proofing and transmission.
At this point, the proofer logs into the system and is presented with a listing
of transcriptions that are not yet proofed. The screenshot below shows such
a listing:
The proofer simply selects a transcription and once proofed, they hit a transmit
button, which sends the transcription to the client. Vendors can easily locate
transcriptions if required by searching with as little as one letter. HTTS
makes a simple process out of creating, proofing, transmitting and searching
transcriptions.
Admin Features:
Vendors setup all users and assign rights. User rights can easily be modified.
Vendors can also run activity and
billing reports. Activity Reports show number of lines based on 65 characters
per line, date of transcription and transcriber. Billing reports total all
lines. Both reports can be run based on the actual specialty, which is
typically how vendors separate billing. For instance, if a vendor handles
Allergy and Gastro within a client but needs to bill these separately, the
vendor can run reports based on specialty.
