The Ideal Project Manager (PM) is truly an invention born out of necessity. After searching for months for project management software capable of meeting our simple requirements, Ideal finally decided to develop it in-house. The challenge then became to produce a custom software application that could be utilized by other businesses generically.

Key to fulfilling our needs was that PM had to be able to accommodate Ideal, our clients and our partners (Vendors), to whom we outsource select services. This "triangle" of user types further required that certain screen elements and features not be visible to certain user types. For instance, Client Users can see their project ledger but Vendor Users cannot. We simply couldn't find a product that provided such flexibility. Moreover, most products seem over-burdened with features that looked good but provided no real value.

User Task Screen - Starting from the left: All options displayed for Admin users. Project Ledger and Projects displayed for Client users. Only Projects assigned to Vendor user displayed. Tasks listed chronologically. Completed tasks listed at bottom of task list. Date is date requested for completion of task. "By" is creator of task, "For" is assignee. "Status" reflects User's required action. "N" (New) indicates new task to assignee only (all other users do not see new task that is not accepted). "O" (Open) indicates nothing required of user. "W" (Waiting) indicates User has sent task to another User for action and is waiting for reply. "U" (Update) indicates action is required by User. "C" (Completed) indicates task has been completed.



Admin Screen - Starting from the top: Create Users, select type, assign Client Users to Client. Create login and password Input Name and phone. Select email notification of task and input email address. Next: Create Client. Next: Create/Modify project. Next: Assign Users to Project. Next: Select Client and Project. Input invoices. Input payments. Delete invoice or payment if required.
